On Sunday, September 22nd, the chapter will host a member meeting and luncheon at the Virginia War Memorial (VWM) at 621 S. Belvidere Street in Richmond. Our guest speaker will be the Deputy Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veteran Services, Steven Combs, who will provide an overview of DVS services and highlight recent initiatives. The luncheon and presentation are scheduled for 12:30 to 2:30PM with guided tours of the VWM following until 4PM closing. Free parking is available in the attached garage with elevator accessibility. The price will be $27/person, and all guests are welcome. Dress is business casual.

Steven Combs is the son of an Air Force veteran and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. He then served 10 years in the Air Force in operations and logistics, including a tour as a squadron commander at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany.  Other assignments took him to California, Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Nevada. Following his military service, he earned master’s degrees in business administration and in public policy from the College of William & Mary. Steve joined the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) in April 2004 and currently serves as Deputy Commissioner.
