Karen Ruedisueli

Our chapter will host a festive St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon Program beginning at 12:15 PM on Sunday, March 17th at Meadowbrook Country Club on 3700 Cogbill Rd in Richmond, VA 23234. This meeting will feature timely and important information regarding healthcare and pharmacy benefits for our military community. 

Our guest speaker will be Karen Ruedisueli, Director of Government Relations for Health Affairs in the national office of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). In this capacity, she also serves as co-chair of The Military Coalition’s (TMC) Health Care Committee. Karen has testified before Congress and built relationships with DoD leaders to advance solutions to military health system problems and ensure transparency and accountability in policy implementation. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Karen previously worked as a marketing and management consultant. As an Army spouse and Family Readiness Group leader, she assisted families with a variety of challenges during the unit’s train up and deployment to Afghanistan. Karen and her husband, MAJ Kurt Ruedisueli, USA (Ret), currently reside in the Washington, D.C., metro area with their two children.  

Karen will provide an update on MOAA’s legislative priorities for TRICARE and the military health system including efforts to reverse TRICARE pharmacy network cuts, fix TRICARE coverage gaps, and address barriers to access in military treatment facilities. There will be time at the end for questions. 

The luncheon buffet will be featuring the classic Irish favorites including lamb stew, corned beef & cabbage with red potatoes and carrots and the famous dessert bar. The price is $37/person. A cash bar is available. All guests are welcome. Dress for this meeting will be business casual. The registration deadline is Wednesday, March 13th.
